Ok so I have been seeing all my friends and select members of my family (I'm looking at you Mickelle) blogging and what not I decided that (blogging) is the grown up thing to do, it has also been something I have been wanting it I do for awhile now. The last year has been probably one of the most eventful years since I got back from the land down south (Argentina) and I have been wanting to write things down as a way to process what I am learning, gasp so selfish I know! (It's probably why I am still single) another reason that I have been wanting to start this is because I have the majority of my family living in another state and this seems a better way to keep them in the loop of how I am doing between visits, I am sorry but sometimes phone calls don't cut it, and sorry Facebook you just fall short in this.
Well I guess at this point is where I explain the title of this Blog (this being the first post and all). it has been my experience since my mission that inspiration doesn't come with out a little bit of work, I realized this while thinking about the verse of scripture found in Jeremiah 16:16 "Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.". at this point you may be thinking "but Spencer this is talking about missionaries", well yes it is, but we can also think of this as methods of seeking inspiration, blessings, guidance, or what ever it may be from the Lord. to explain I myself have dabbled in fishing, and it is a long process where i cast my line and wait.... and wait some more, maybe sneak a nap or two, and then after a long day of waiting with my line in the water I may have one or two fish to show for the effort. while as is explained here the hunters shall be out actively pursuing their prize, and at the end of the day what they have to show for their effort is way more than a few fish! to me it is like that with seeking the Lords help, of course he will help those who reach out to him by casting their line into the water, but those who set out and hunt, work, will obtain so much more hence the line "inspiration through perspiration"! so to wrap up this post which i apologize is longer than I intended for a first post, Sorry Not Sorry, I plan to share some of what I am working through and learn through that work here.
